3-D Surface Painting Reflection: 05/15/2013
1.) I think i did well with picking an interesting surface and and using colors and completely whiting out the surface because it all looks nice and flows together and you can barely see any of the original color.
2.) I think i could have taking more time because if i had i could have fixed all the little paint smears that run around the bowl of the speaker and made it look nicer with the flowing of the colors.
3.) The surface i painted on was my dads speaker that i stole from his garage. I chose this surface because the texture is kind of smooth and rubbery and i used this as the pathway for the flowing of my paint.
4.) My theme is abstract because the way it looks is like someone painted the center and then the paint just starts to run off and down the sides of the sub.
5.) I think the major colors are blue and yellow because even though the whole project was painted white, the yellow and blue paint trails are what stick out the most.
6.) The rhythm is the paint trails because they are basicly the only thing that is going on and i had it like that because it made the colors stick out.
7.) I think i learned to take your time but dont slack because it is good to be careful but if you waste too much time it will never get done. This can be applied to life with work projects or making sure you have stuff done for life.
8.) First i planned the sub because i knew i wanted to do it and it was in my preliminaries. Second i took a few days to paint the whole thing white. It is a big sub so it took some time to make it look good in all white. Third, i painted the paint trails on the sub and the white made the paint trails pop out of the white.
9.) I think this is a worthwile project because it really opens the mind to the possibilities of painting. I think you should keep this for the futer because it really makes people think about thier art.
